CALOR VILLAGE OF THE YEAR.

Rhuallt has qualified for the next round of the Calor Village of the Year competition. The competition comprised of six different categories including community spirit, business’s in the area, young people, older people, the environment and information technology. The village met a lot of the entry criteria, but now the hard work begins!

The judge’s visit will take place on Tuesday September 5th. at 10am. The village has been allocated two hours to give a short formal presentation. This will be an opportunity for the judges to observe and inspect evidence relating to the categories entered. During the visit we may include further information to support the categories these could be displays, the people of the community, organisations involved in the community, showing the judges aspects of the village and in particular the judges will be looking for evidence of activities that are community led/driven rather than led by outside agencies or processes.

As much input as possible is required so if possible please attend the next meeting to help plan and organise this visit.

It will be appreciated if everyone makes an extra effort to keep the piece of the village tidy.

Prizes for this competition are £500 for each category, £500 for the regional winner and £1500 for the overall winner.

Information packs about the competition and our entry are available for anyone interested. Contact Janice on 01745 583885.
